Web3 Developer Remote Jobs

📍 Anywhere 🏷️ Fintech & Crypto 💰 $130,000 / year
$130,000 a year, fully remote, work from wherever you want. This is a full-time Web3 Developer opening, and the team needs someone who can build the parts of a decentralized application that users actually interact with. Most of what breaks in Web3 products breaks at exactly this layer, the interface where a normal user's browser meets a blockchain that doesn't care about UX conventions. Getting that layer right is most of the job.

What you'd be doing

The front end of a dApp isn't like a normal web app front end. It has to talk to wallets, sign transactions, and handle a network that occasionally lags or rejects a call for reasons a traditional API never would. Here's what that looks like day-to-day.
  • Build decentralized application front ends and the integrations that connect them to real functionality
  • Connect applications to blockchain networks and wallets, handling connection states, signing flows, and network switching
  • Work directly with smart contract developers to make sure the contract logic and the interface actually match up
That last one comes up more than people expect. A contract might expose a function with a gas cost that makes sense on paper but creates a confusing user experience if the front end doesn't account for it, so the back-and-forth between contract logic and interface design happens constantly, not just at the handoff. In a recent feature, a contract call that looked simple in isolation ended up requiring three separate confirmation states in the interface just to prevent users from thinking the app had frozen.

Who fits

Two years of hands-on experience building decentralized applications is what's required, along with a track record of integrating wallets and blockchain protocols into real projects. On paper, a bachelor's degree covers the education side, typically in computer science. What matters more in practice is whether you've actually shipped something that connects to MetaMask or WalletConnect and had to debug why a signature request silently failed on one browser and not another. A resume with the right degree line but no shipped dApp work behind it won't move forward in this process. JavaScript and Web3 libraries need to be second nature, not something you're learning on the job. Ethers.js or Web3.js specifically, since the role expects you to already know the quirks: provider setup, event listening on contract calls, handling reverted transactions gracefully instead of just throwing an unhandled error at the user. Candidates coming purely from traditional frontend backgrounds sometimes underestimate how much of this role is about state that lives outside your control. A user can reject a transaction, close their wallet mid-flow, or switch networks mid-interaction, and the interface must handle all of these without breaking. That's a different kind of edge-case thinking than most React work asks for.

Skills

  • JavaScript, at a professional level
  • Solidity, enough to read contract code and understand what you're integrating with
  • Web3.js or Ethers.js
  • Blockchain protocol fundamentals
  • Decentralized application architecture
Nice to have but not required: TypeScript, since many Web3 codebases have moved in that direction; experience with a chain beyond Ethereum, such as Solana or Polygon; and any exposure to IPFS for decentralized storage. None of these are dealbreakers if you're strong everywhere else, and the team would rather hire someone excellent on the core stack who picks up a new chain in a month than someone who's touched five chains shallowly.

Pay and benefits

Base pay is $130,000 per year. Health insurance, paid time off, and remote-work flexibility come standard, and equity or token-based incentives are part of the package too. Naukri Mitra's listing here also notes that some companies in this space extend stock options or profit-sharing on top of the base structure, which this role includes. For anyone comparing this to other remote Web3 developer jobs, the token-plus-equity structure is worth weighing carefully, since its actual value depends heavily on the project's traction rather than being a fixed number, as a salary is.

The honest version of what this job is like

Web3 tooling moves fast, and libraries you're using today might have a breaking change in six months that nobody warned you about. A wallet provider update once broke a signing flow overnight for an entire team we know, with zero advance notice, and the fix took a full day of digging through GitHub issues to find what other developers were hitting. That's not rare. Anyone applying should be comfortable with a stack that occasionally shifts under you, because it will. On the flip side, you're building things that didn't exist five years ago, and the problems you hit usually don't have a Stack Overflow answer waiting for you. Figuring it out yourself is most of the appeal for people who end up staying in this field long-term. The documentation for many of these tools is thin or outdated, which means reading the library's source code becomes a routine part of debugging rather than a last resort. Work happens asynchronously across time zones, so the pace is less about being online constantly and more about shipping something usable between check-ins. Standups happen twice a week rather than daily, which suits people who'd rather have long stretches of uninterrupted focus than short daily syncs.

Getting started

Send a resume plus a link to a live dApp or GitHub repo you've worked on, ideally something with real wallet integration rather than a tutorial clone. More detail helps here; a short writeup of one tricky integration problem you solved goes further than a long list of technologies you've touched. Someone deciding whether to become a remote Web3 developer full-time or stay freelance should know that this role is structured as ongoing salaried work rather than project-based contracting. There's no application deadline attached to this posting, and candidates move through the process on a rolling basis.
